Etruskische Dame II - Etruscan Lady II

A long cherished project is coming to life soon. For a long time I couldn't decide what to do but now the details are fixed. This time it will be an Etruscan woman of higher rank between ca. 480 and 450 BC. The examples I use are a bronze mirror with the picture of the judgement of Paris, two statuettes and the paintings in the Etruscan tombs.
The clothing will consist of a chiton made of thin wool with a tablet-woven border at the seam. On top will be a tebenna, the former form of the Roman toga that was worn both by men and women. Eventually I'll make a kind of chitoniskos later too.
The hair is pulled up by a simple fabric ribbon in Greek style.
The jewelry will consist of long earrings and a short necklace, nearly neckband, with glass and metal beads. All will be made by myself with the help of two friends.
Only the shoe basics will be bought. Momentarily I plan to alter medieval ankle shoes.

Aktuell in Arbeit: Brettchenborte aus pflanzengefärbter Wolle
Now work in progress: Tablet-woven ribbon of plant-dyed wool
