Elbisches Krönchen / Elvish crown

Es wird wieder Zeit, meine Hochelbe Gwaloth auszupacken. In 3 Tagen bin ich auch einem Larp und mal wieder ist der Gedanke präsent, "Ich habe nichts Passendes!". Da ich sie seit 2 Jahren nicht mehr gespielt habe, bestand keine Notwendigkeit, etwas Neues zu machen.

Vorbild für mein neues Schmuckstück war ein Jugendstil-Krönchen mit Steinen und vielen kleinen gefassten Steinen als obere Bekränzung. Meines besteht aus vergoldetem Draht, alten Acryl-Cabochons in "Mondstein", geschliffenen Achatperlen und Süßwasserperlen. Bis alles fertig gelötet und montiert war, dauerte es fünf Stunden. Ich habe mit dem Handy ein paar Arbeitsfotos gemacht.

It is time again to play my high elf Gwaloth. In 3 days I'm on a Larp and again the thought is present "I have nothing fitting!". I didn't play her the last two years so I had no need to make anything. 

Inspiration for my new jewelry is an art nouveau coronet with jewels and many small enchased stones as crest. Mine is made of gilded wire, old acrylic cabochons in "moon-stone", cut agate beads and freshwater pearls. Until everything was soldered and mounted it took five hours. I made some pictures with my phone during the working progress.

Schritt 1: Zuschneiden und Biegen der einzelnen Drähte.

Step 1: Cutting and bending the indiviual wires.

Schritt 2: Löten, Fassen der Cabochons.

Step 2: Soldering, enchasing the cabochons.

Schritt 3: Perlen an den Ästchen montieren (mit Messingdraht), Cabochons anlöten.

Step 3: Mounting the pearls on the branches (with brass wire), soldering the cabochons.

Schritt 4: Die Enden machen (hier mit kurzem Kettchen und Verschluss auf der Rückseite). Rund biegen.

Schritt 5: Der anstrengendste: Vergolden der Lötstellen. Ich mache das mit einem speziellen Acryllack.

Step 5: The most tiring: Gilding the soldering joints. I do this with a special kind of acrylic paint.

Und wie der Zufall es wollte, fand dieses Krönchen auch vor dem ersten Auftritt schon eine neue Besitzerin. Und so ging es nach nur einem Abend Tragen an eine liebe Bekannte :)

And as fortune wanted it the coronet found a new mistress before it had it's first appearence. And so it went to a friend after only wearing it for one evening. :)
