Dieses Bild von Tizian um 1560 heißt "Portrait einer jungen Frau im roten Kleid", und offenbar kennt niemand auch nur eine Farbabbildung davon. Jegliche Versuche, die MET, in der es sich befindet, dahingehend zu kontaktieren, blieben ohne Antwort. Aber auch sonst ist das Bild einzigartig: Das Kleid ist das einzige seiner Art und gibt Rätsel auf. Normalerweise wurden Kleider solchen Schnitts zu der Zeit in Norditalien als Doubletkleider und Art Überkleid/Mantelkleid getragen, darunter befänden sich noch mindestens zwei Schichten, Kleid und Camicia (vgl. http://celefindel.blogspot.com/2019/01/projekt-sofonisba.html). Dazu kommt der einzigartige Schnitt dieses Unterhemds, das wie ein modifiziertes Männerhemd wirkt, aber nicht ist. Einen tiefen Einblick ins Dekolleté bei den Frauen dieser Zeit und Gegend mag man zwar oft gehabt haben, aber ein V-Ausschnitt ist höchst ungewöhnlich.
Meine Theorie zu diesem Kleid ist, dass es sich entweder um ein Kleid handelt, das Tizian für sein Model erfunden hat, oder dass es sich um etwas handelt, das im Hause leger getragen wurde, eine Art "Hauspyjama", was selten abgebildet wurde.
Und da ich ein Faible dafür habe, Kleidung zu machen, die sonst keiner macht, musste ich einfach eine Interpretation davon versuchen!

Each try to contact the MET which is said to possess the painting was left unanswered. But apart from that the picture itself is unique: The dress is singular and has many riddles. Normally, dresses like this are worn in this time and Northern Italy as doublet dresses and kind of outer garments/coat dresses, over at least two layers, a dress and a camicia (see http://celefindel.blogspot.com/2019/01/projekt-sofonisba.html). And there is this stange cut of the shirt that looks like a modified men's shirt but isn't. It was not uncommon to get a deep view into the cleavage of the women of this time and place but a V neckline is very uncommon.
My theory for this dress is that it is either a design invention that Titian made for his model, or that it is kind of a dress worn casually only at home, like a "home pyjama" which is seldom depicted.
But as I have a fancy for clothes that no one makes I had to make a recreation!
Das Oberteil wurde wieder mit einem Mock-up gemacht. Bis auf die Nähte des Futters ist alles von Hand genäht, weil ich das meiste unterwegs und auf Märkten genäht habe. Der Kragen ist mit pad-stiching versteift. Die Ärmel sind unterschiedlich zum Gemälde, weil ich nicht alles erkennen konnte und beschloss, beim Rest lieber das zu machen, was mir gefällt.
Der Stoff ist ein leicht changierendes Leinen, die Borten aus Organza. Das Futter ist steiferes Hausleinen. Als Hemd musste ein Barockhemd dienen, das für die Fotos improvisiert wurde. Ich wollte kein eigenes Hemd für ein einziges Kleid nähen, aber ich fürchte, jetzt will ich es doch...
The fabric is made of slightly chatoyant linen, the trims organza. The lining is stiffer home linen. As camicia I took a baroque shirt that I modified for the pictures. I didn't want to sew a new shirt for just one dress but I fear I have to make one now...
